Sofitel Hotels & Resorts is a luxury hotel chain brand with properties mainly in large cities. This hotel is originated from France and known for the luxury five-star hotel style. A staycation at this beautiful luxurious hotel in DC was definitely worthwhile. We went during valentine’s day weekend and they made it very romantic with roses, chocolate covered strawberries, macaroons, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in our room suite. Their service was five star and felt very welcomed and comfortable during our stay. The Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square gives a very romantic vibe which is great for a quick getaway which makes you feel like your living in royal.
Opaline Restaurant
This French Cuisine restaurant is simply amazing going from the presentation and delicious food and the thirsty drinks. We were given breakfast and it was presented very well with some French deli-cases which would be rare to find in USA. We were served with great service in our room and it was presented well with so much variety. We had many options from eggs, salmon bagels, fruits, bread and many different drinks as well offered. The breakfast was delicious and highly recommended to try and enjoy it from your room.
Dinner time was in their restaurant and it was nicely decorated and having a full stretch of a bar and seating area along with outdoor seating during the warmer days. We were seated indoor and the food was delivered as a three-course meal. The menu had variety from great starters, main course and the desert. We also had some cocktails and some wine. The best part of the desert was the French Macarons. The service was perfect and would definitely come back and dine at this fine French restaurant. If you’re looking for a lovely romantic dinner or a place to relax and have few drinks, this place is where you need to go.
So, if you are in the DC area and want to have close proximity to the national mall area, White House and the Smithsonian Museums, this hotel is one of the closest and a walking distance away. There are also many train stations close by and a garage to park your car if needed. Not only does this hotel give you the luxury style stay, but also easy access to the heart of DC tourist spots. We will definitely be going back to stay at this wonderful hotel and hope you plan to go visit soon!
